In the month of November 2022, I won NaNoWriMo with a grand total of 50,038 words!
Read more: NaNoWriMo/Life UpdateTo put that into context, the Great Gatsby is 50k words long. Fight Club is 50k words long. The Notebook is 50k words long. I wrote the same length as any of those stories in ONE MONTH. I have participated in NaNoWriMo many, many times but this is my first real win and I’m thrilled! I even bought a winners shirt to commemorate the win!
I finished the entire draft during December, finishing it out with a grand total of 53k words. It still needs a lot of editing because no first draft is ever perfect! Since December, I took a break from writing to enjoy some family time and focus on some big projects that were happening at my day job. Now that those have settled, it’s time to get back to the keyboard and get all of these stories out of my head!!
